Future Simple

(+) I promise I will study harder this term.

(-) She will not (won't) go to the concert on Friday.

(?) Will they join us for dinner?


Use:
- predictions
- spontaneous decisions
- Offer help
- Promises




Future Be Going To

(+) Look at those dark clouds. It's going to rain.

(-) He is sick. He is not going to go school next week.

(?) Are you going to visit Daisy this weekend?

Use:
- Future plan
- Scheduled events
- Future events where evidence is shown


Present Continuous used as Future

(+) I'm meeting you after dinner.

(-) They aren't working this evening.

(?) Is she joining the team later tonight?


Use:

- For events later than now. There is a suggestion that more than a person knows about that event



Future Continuous

(+) I will be talking to her when she arrives.

(-) We won't be expecting you when your train arrives.

(?) Will he be attending the 10 o'clock meeting?


Use:
- Action that will be happening at a specific moment in the future

(+) We are going to be staying at our hotel in case you need to reach us.

(-) They have to work. They aren't going to be watching the game tonight.

(?) Are you going to be seeing Peter tomorrow at the cinema? Ask him to call us.

Use:
- For actions happening at the same time in the future
