This blog was especially built for my students. It has not only resumes and videos for our classes, but it also has grammar tips and it will work as another mean of communication between us. Remember each one has his pace, so use this blog to work at home with your own rhythm.

Word formation: prefixes
Prefixes - particles used in the beginning of the words to give them a meaning.
Now, you'll have a look at 4 prefixes used in the English language that mean "the opposite".
They are: il-, im-, ir-, in-.
How do you use them? No problem!! Read the information below.
il - for words that begin with "l" (yes, there will be double "l");
im - for words that begin with "m", "p", "b" (consonants, where you have to use both your lips to produce the sound). And yes, there will be double consonant;
ir - for words that begin with "r" (double consonant);
in - no rule.
Complete the sentences below and send them to me as comment.
1. My children are growing and becoming more ______________ (dependent).
2. Anyway, I still have to teach them not to be so _______________ (responsible)
3. And be able to say "no" to some ___________ (legal) things.
4. I think they aren't so ___________ (mature) as they were before.
5. A parent shoudn't be so ______________ (patient), because in the end, the children grow!
