11 graders: to be even better

Lately I came across some expressions that we should revise:







1/ What is the difference between "Gain", "Earn" and "Win"?

"Win" : To win  a competition, or to receive an award.

"Earn" : To get something in exchange for your work, for example: a salary.

"Gain" : To get or to increase, for example: experience.


2/ Some of you do not use connectors to start paragraphs or to link ideas. In the table below you have some of those tiny but wonderful words:















3/ Some expressions such as these: "very", "good"  need retirement. Here are some ideas:
























4/ Difference between "offer" and "provide"*:

"Provide": to give sth to sb or make it available; supply.
"Offer": to say that you are willing to to do sth for sb or give sth to sb.
