10 graders: History of the English Language

In the previous week we spoke about English and American English. But...do we have only these two? Why is there more than one English?

1) watch a video on the English language:

So, why are there more than one English?

Go to page 32 and write the countries' names underneath each flag.
What is common about them?


2) We are going to watch a video about Englishes it will take approximately 10 minutes.

The reporter will ask several questions to the people. In the end of the video imagine that you were asked those questions, what would you have answered?



There are more languages. What languages do you speak? Do you speak Russian? Swedish?
Go to page 40 and get ready for a listening exercise.
