Passive Voice
Remember this:
a) BE + Past Participle;
b) Firstly, identify the verb tense of the active sentence;
c) Build the sentence in the passive, writing the auxiliary verb to be in the tense of the active sentence.
Examples:
Active Voice Passive Voice
Pres. Simple: Sílvia drinks the chocolate milk.
Pres. Contin.: Helena is drinking chocolate milk.
Simple Past: Pedro drank chocolate milk.
Past Conti.: Martin was drinking chocolate milk.
Present Perfect: Lisa has drunk chocolate milk.
Past Perfect: Joana had drunk chocolate milk. Present Perfect Continuous: it isn't used in the passive.
Future “will”: Marta will drink chocolate milk.
Future “Be going to”: Daniel isn’t going to drink chocolate milk.
Modal verb: Should Diogo drink chocolate milk?

The chocolate milk is drunk by Sílvia.
The chocolate milk is being drunk by Helena.
The chocolate milk was drunk by Pedro.
The chocolate milk was being drunk by Martin. The chocolate milk has been drunk by Lisa. The chocolate milk had been drunk by Joana. The chocolate milk will be drunk by Marta.
The chocolate milk isn’t going to be drunk by Daniel.
Should the chocolate milk be drunk by Diogo?

Why do we use the passive voice?
-Don’t know the agent’s identity
-Not important to mention the agent of the action
-Want to avoid the agent of the action. (journalism)
-Focus on the action

And now try these:
PASSIVE VOICE with 2 objects
Sometimes we have sentences where you have a "who" and a "what". For instance:
Afonso and Castanheira bought a book to Amaral yesterday.
book - what - direct object
Amaral - who - indirect object
This means that you can build 2 Passive sentences!
One of them begins with the direct object and the other with the indirect object.
a) A book was bought to Amaral yesterday.
b) Amaral was given a book by Afonso and Castanheira yesterday.
