10 graders - Survive in your English class!

My dear students,

The importance of the English language is known and established.

However some pupils still “hate” English, they still need to find a way to overcome their difficulties.

Pupils have to achieve excellent marks in order to get into universit so, the purpose of this document is to help you survive and improve your English.

Remember this:
Your path to get into the university begins in September 2012!

…………………………………………………………….

At home:

AGENDA

You must have your AGENDA where you write about everything you have to do, not only your work at school, but also your dates in the cinema, parties and family meetings. This way you can measure your effort along the week, months and trimester.

HOW SHOULD YOU PREPARE YOURSELF FOR THE TEST ?

Read the test matrix
Read the texts from the book about the theme proposed for the test
Prepare possible compositions at home
Study grammar and do exercises from your workbook, grammars or websites

           TALK

While you are doing a home task, describe it in English.
If you change rooms describe your way until you get in the new room.

In class:

TYPES OF TEXTS
You must pay attention to the type of text you are asked to write. As you know a pros and cons composition has a different structure from a commentary.
Information about this will be handed in.

USE CONNECTORS
These little words enrich your written and oral speech. They help you to link paragraphs and ideas in a proper way.
You will receive more information about this.

ENGLISH-ENGLISH DICTIONARY
You can find this dictionary from two editors: Oxford or Longman. This dictionary helps you to check the meaning of words. It shows how to split words in the end of the line. It also shows synonyms. It gives you sentences as examples where you can see how to write the word in the structure of the sentence…and so many other things. Truly a friend to carry around!

             MATERIALS
Bring everything to our English lesson: notebook, books, workbook, dictionary, pens, pencils and rubber.

             PARTICIPATE
Whether you have easiness at speaking or not, you should always try to speak and establish communication.
Everyone does mistakes. If you do not try, you will not learn.
